Tough Stuff:
Few months ago budget stuff from 2009: talked about how we did vs. budget and how that went. Basically all went well, we spent what we budgeted.
Pod by pod a little different.
MONEY
Dues this year: a lot of hard questions to answer before can answer dues question
To run auto sub as a 40 person camp cost about $15,000
Last year spent a bit more with the dome. A few pods exceeded their budget, others were under.
Saved some money by not renewing tenancy at storage in Reno for another year, only until September.
How to treat individual pods is a larger discussion, we're not going to get into that.
With the money we spent last year
For example last year said were going to spend 500 on art, spent about that and ½
Tristram – all treacle lights ok, CFLs died, too bright anyway, might be better to replace with 10 watt incandescent.
Dome set 1000, spent 2500 (canvas, grommeter)
How do we want to spend money?
How worth it is it to the camp to have a taller gherkin? Climbable?
Dues were 375 last year; if we do nothing will be 325.
Last year opened dues at 375, moved up to 400 then 425. May not have that option this year because have at least 40 people interested now.
One of the things spent a lot of time doing this year was talking to each pod leader about what was good and what could improve – one pod leader felt camp should be smaller, one felt could be larger, most was a good size.
Pretzel: the year we had 50+ there were a lot of couples who didn’t want to work.
Doug one of the best parts of a camp is getting to know everybody
Grumble grumble burp burp
Linda May – don’t think it’s necessary to have a taller dome
Tristram – if no difference between generator or steam sub or netting ef it
Amber - poll everyone not here through email.
Roughly speaking raising dome, steam sub, generator, new storage about the same
Buy a container in Reno?
Diesel generator: 1675 plus delivery split for entire village rather than just auto sub (Pretzel source) actual total would come out to about 1000.00
Raising dome= 1000.00
Kim runs poll:
First Choice:
Storage 12
Diesel 11
Steam sub 0
Dome 0
Second choice
Storage 8
Diesel 3
Steam sub 9
Dome 4
Dan – impression that there are certain expenditures that are expected associated with AutoSub– there are other camps that are cheaper.
Some of hardest workers and camp leader are hard up, do not want to become a camp of ‘haves’.
Going to have to create a system (run the risk of over filling the camp) of how to determine camp membership.
Camp sign –Doug – 4ft in diameter, 6ft tall. Mostly made -
Next Meeting: June 6th at Tish’s
