Minutes AS meeting 6/20 /2011 at Damon’s house

Draft Agenda:
     -Dues, what they really mean
     -Art car fund raiser
     -Pod Leadership and Late Crew

Attendees: Chuck, Pete Z, Damon, Noah, Matto, Jeremy, Dave, Rich, Doug, Sharon, Tish
Chuck taking the notes.

Tish: proposes new façade for dome to make it more inviting than our private shade structure and hopefully minimize the hippy intrusions. Possibly may be built with existing materials. She will be forwarding a drawing via email for review and comment.

Pete: indicates that camp will happen based on the fact that 7 people have paid dues. Dues changed from previous proposed to reflect not having to spend on buying a conex box as in 2010. Some discussion regarding budgeting/spending by pod, not really available prior to 2009. This and/or current budget/spending info not available at meeting. Advocates AS being a more year round camp to facilitate participation and fundraising. Larger projects (such as dome raising or steam sub) should not be group focused but the responsibility of whoever chooses to assume it. Camp does not have the budget for it. Copies of a 2011 line item budget not available for meeting. That individual would be in charge of everything from funding, fundraising and staffing. Fancy Blake provided an estimate of $1500 to raise and canvas dome as discussed. Estimate not available for meeting
Dave said that Quonset hut steam bath used at robs and Rachel’s over winter might be a cost effective alternative to silver apple and more maintenance manageable. He is looking into it.

Art Car Fundraiser
At Jeremy’s in JP (Jeremy Alliger 18 Conry Crescent, JP) refer to FB for times, $ etc.
Dreamy Jenn to do some decorating for event

Matto to call Blanchard’s for kegs. Doug to pick up and deliver
It is recommended that all market heavily for attendees for this event.
Quonset huts were provided last event by Ronnie and megaSeth, Matto to discuss with them to see if they are available.
Jeremy has wood for steam engine, grill, charcoal, and a waterfall for our use and enjoyment.
Steam sub benches to JP will be handled by Pete Z

Discussed possibility of using services of Feed the artists, who would provide freezer/storage services available on playa. Also a service that would do up to 4 deliveries direct to camp of fresh goods. Should AS consider their options over what we currently do. Damon to weigh relative benefits of these possibilities and generate recommendations
Dave considering a rebuild of the evap pond, will be thinking about it
Dave called for an aggressive inventory to prevent purchase redundancies.
Rebar driver brought up. Typically borrowed/rented from rob darmon. Continue borrowing and likely have to replace when playa entropy catches up with it or should the camp have its own??
Need freezer, stoves etc. Buildings and grounds pod to take care of.
